Two of the people in our party had been here a few years back in their old location, and they were quite surprised by how much it had changed. The menu was a bit odd, anything boiled was shown as "market price". Can they really tell how much to charge for fried shrimp or grilled shrimp, but not know how much to charge for boiled shrimp? I can see charging market price for lobster or swordfish, but boiled shrimp??? My wife and I both had the small order of grilled shrimp. For $9.99 we each got 9 fairly tiny grilled shrimp, a small bowl of lettuce for a salad, and a roll. Nothing else. They tasted fine, but they were horribly overpriced. I was kind of surprised, because the boiled shrimp the people at the next table had were enormous. This is the first restaurant I've been to in a long time where I actually ate everything that was served to me, then had to go get dinner elsewhere. We won't be back. There are simply too many really good places to eat in the area to bother going to this place.

BTW I heard they are moving to a new location but I am not exactly sure where it is.

Had a great shrimp dinner at their new place across the highway...busy busy night. I always make a point of eating dinner there when I come to town from California.

I travel quite often, fortunately I travel to South La regularly. This spot is always on my stop list. Don't expect white table cloths or a tourists spot as it is always busy with locals. Fried shrimp is always to die for and onion rings are out of this world.

Not a good place for the veg*ns, but excellent for those hungry for crustaceans. Boiled crabs, crawfish...whatever is in season. I think the fried catfish is the best in the area and is a good way to curb the hunger as you wait for your boiled goods. Try not to wear anything you have any remote attachment to as it will either be splatter with yellow fat or smell like you've been at sea for a few years.

Good local restaurant with local seafood, huge shrimp. They were out of crabs (heard that was a favorite) but everything we had was good. Very nice waitress, many locals.

I've never seen my husband so blissful. The awesome waitress gave him a quick tutorial on crawdad eatin' and offered us her special sauce. They have the BEST onion rings I've ever eaten and the special sauce is great on everything! Fantastic place for local seafood.

Not bad, but nothing too special here. We ate a grilled shrimp po'boy and a fried crawfish. The shrimp didn't taste very fresh. The prices are cheap, but the serving sizes and flavor don't compare to some of the really delicious cajun food available in the area (eg Dwights). Had a fried frogleg too, which was tasty but I don't have anything to compare it to.

This used to be my favorite place in New Iberia . Last two trips here I am sad to say it has gone downhill. Last time service was horrible the food was OK. This time the service was horrible and so were my boiled shrimp. I could not peel them and they were like rubber. Not sure I will go back. What a shame this place has gotten so bad.

Great place for boiled crab. Went in Oct and crabs are in good season. The service is quick. The salad can be improved a little. Donot be fooled by the purloining: it took me a while to locate the restaurant. But well worth it.

This place is awesome. Everyone is so nice and out of towners are treated like friends. The crabs were heavy, the oysters delish and the shrimp were freakin fabulous. I can't wait to go back someday.

Interesting items like grilled alligator and frog legs. Hubby ordered boiled shrimp expecting a good Cajun boil, but they don't spice the boil. We also ordered the Seafood Gumbo but was missing the seafood. It was just rue and rice. I got the gator with a salad which tasted good but didn't sit well later that night. The little one got a cup of gumbo with crab claws. She added lots of spice to the gumbo to get it going and her crab claws were all claw and no meat. The staff is very nice but the food is not worth the price!

Absolutely one of the worst places for crawfish. I consider myself to be a crawfish expert and I have been to almost every restaurant in South Louisiana in effort to find the ultimate experience. The Boiling Point has been know for years as a go to place for crabs so I thought they must be good at crawfish as well. I was wrong... For two consecutive years I have given them a chance and both times I have left disappointed. They are hard to peel and the seasoning is very weak.

    - Grilled Shrimp delicious. Well seasoned, not overcooked. Advise the large platter, as small was "too small". - Good hot sauces on the table. - Waitress was sassy. But constantly refilling drinks, quick service. - Onion rings good. Waitress said there's

I came here on the Tabasco tasting tour. We had a plate with like three crawfish each, plus dipping sauce and some onion rings. The crawfish were quite tasty and a little spicy, the dipping sauce was addictive, and the onion rings light and great. I'd like to come back for a full meal, because there's not much edible on a crawfish but the tail, and that's a lot of space for a little food.

The Crawfish Pie was the worst I've ever had. I could NOT eat the Pistollet, it filled 2 paper towels with grease and still could not eat it. And; as if that wasn't bad enough, the man taking the money at the front counter had the worst B.O. I've ever smelled. I was gagging, my husband paid, so that I could walk outside. My husband had the grilled seafood plater, he said it was ok just that the fish was on the salty side, not worth having to smell the man taking up money. We went here a year ago and had fried shrimp and it was good, but this will be crossed off our list! Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here, unless you're ok with greasy food, B.O. that's unbareable and $2.25 for a canned soda. Will go to Seafood Connection again before here. There is not much room there but food is head and shoulders above this place. Try the 2 fried pork chop meal for $6.95.

Ate here for lunch this past week, not a bad spot. Had boiled potatoes, gator balls and an oyster po boy. The potatoes and gator balls came out very hot. I'd warn anyone on their first couple of bites not to destroy their mouths. The potatoes were lightly battered in the same batter they use to do the fried seafood, and it has a nice thin texture and a little bit of spice. The gator balls were a little thicker, with a texture of a hushpuppy. Inside the filling was molten hot, I couldn't take a half a bite without waiting another minute for it to cool down. The po boy was good but nothing that would have me coming back for just that. A lot of mayo (not that I'm against it) and a very flimsy piece of tomato. The oysters themselves were just plain cold. It was surprising how fresh everything else came out yet the main dish was this. In that aspect this was a disappointment. At a value of average and a considerable distance away, I would come back again if a vendor is buying, but other than that I'll stick with BJ's or Chris's.

Terrible, just terrible. One: no cell phone service inside the building and the manager won't give out the password to the guest WiFi. Two: crawfish tasted muddy and under seasoned. Lastly, the sodas come in a can with a cup of ice. Clearly a ruse to gouge the customers, especially if the food were spiced properly. I had the same experience 20 years ago. Clearly NOTHING has changed.

This was on the route of our Food Tour with the Avery Island Tabasco Co. It's a simple place on the highway with lots of beer and soft drinks and great prawns and onion rings! Great service. Friendly people. TVs. Not happy to see the big Stars-and-Bars plastered on the wall. I guess old habits die hard...but I won''t dwell on that. They have lots of seafood items and we didn't get to try any other things but it smelled good and looked good. What little experience we had, we enjoyed.

Food and service were both excellent. We were a lage group. Our waitresses were efficient, friendly and helpful. The prices are below the prices we are used to paying in Texas for the same type meal. If you are close to this restaurant, we recommend you eat here.

Boiled shrimp were delicious, much larger than expected, and perfectly spiced. Boiled crawfish were seasoned well but might have been a tad overcooked. They were a tiny bit firmer than I'd have liked, but still very good. Wait staff very attentive and friendly. Coworker had the seafood gumbo. Had a nice dark roux and tasted great. Said it would have been even better if the shrimp were gulf shrimp. Would definitely go back.

We had an awesome dinner here. We were looking for some good seafood and certainly found it here. The only difficulty we had was finding the place, ended up calling for directions. We got crawfish and shrimp plus gator bites and fried catfish. It was all wonderful. The special sauce was yummy. To top it off, the service was excellent!
